TenPay Global, Tencent's cross-border payment platform, has launched the "Samsung Wallet Money & Points China QR Payment Service" with Samsung Wallet and Woori Bank, enabling Samsung Wallet Money & Points users from Korea to make QR payments in the Chinese mainland. The launch is expected to make paying in China significantly more convenient for visitors from Korea. With the new service, Samsung Wallet Money & Points users can now pay at tens of millions of Weixin Pay merchants in the Chinese mainland, without downloading an additional app or exchanging currency. Samsung Wallet is one of Korea’s largest mobile payment platforms by transaction volume.

"As Shenzhen prepares to host APEC 2026, we want to help more international visitors feel at home in China," said Daniel Hong, Vice President of Tencent Financial Technology. "Through TenPay Global’s collaboration with Samsung Wallet and Woori Bank, visitors from Korea can now pay in the Chinese mainland using the wallet they already use at home. Together with our partners worldwide, we will continue building a more open and connected cross-border payment network."

"Samsung Wallet Money is designed to deliver both mobile payment convenience and valuable benefits to our users, and this partnership serves as a key milestone in expanding this proven convenience to global markets," said Woncheol Chai, Executive Vice President and Head of the Digital Wallet Team, Mobile eXperience Business at Samsung Electronics. "We will continue to work closely with our global partners to consistently deliver payment experiences tailored to each local market."

Woori Bank CEO Jinwan Jeong said, "This partnership combines Tencent's distinctive payment network, Samsung Wallet's powerful global lifestyle platform and Woori Bank's trusted financial services, and is an important example of creating new customer value." He added, "We will continue to do our utmost so that, through close cooperation among the three companies, we can deliver an even more convenient and innovative financial experience to our customers."

The launch further expands TenPay Global's international wallet partnership network. Over 60 overseas digital wallets across 16 countries and regions are supported for payments in the Chinese mainland. Users of wallets such as PayPal and ShopeePay can make QR payments at Weixin Pay merchants using their familiar home wallets. From January to August 2026, the value and number of transactions made with international digital wallets in China via Weixin Pay grew 80.6% and 81.8% year on year, respectively.
